The Last Sane Man Standing

Jay and I arrived in Little Rock in March of 1998 and coming in March, 2008, we will mark 10 years doing our radio show in Arkansas (except for a few months between jobs).

That's amazing...especially in Radio. When measuring the time one has worked in this business, each year employed really should be counted in an accelerated form - like dog years are compiled.

One "Radio" year is more like three "everything else" years.  So, by my calculation in the real world, if Jay and I had been doing any other less volatile job, we would be coming up on our 30th anniversary.

Jay and I teamed up in September, 1990.  Can you believe that?  We have met at work almost every weekday for the past 17+ years. That length of time working as a team in Radio puts us in a very elite circle. I don't know how we did it.  We have nothing in common except our sense of humor.  We hardly agree on anything except what's funny.

The joy of our working together is how well we fit.  We know each other so well it's not hard to know which way a conversation is going - and how best to make the most of it.

I know one day it will end and it will be best part of my career gone by.

But, not for now.  We still have several years on a fairly newer contract with Clear Channel and 100.3 The Edge so you can expect us to be there weekday mornings with our usual dribble.

Thank you - thank you for listening.  We really wouldn't be on-the-air without consistent ratings and you guys are what makes that possible.

We have said it before on-the-air and I'll repeat it here:  you are the best, most supportive listeners we have known anywhere - and we've moved around quite a bit.

So, if Jay yells at someone to "DIE!" on the air or I throw someone down the Trap Door and call them an "IDIOT!" we don't mean anything by it. The Corey and Jay Show can be dangerous ground to enter and we've always told you we're "Nice Guys" but with "Bad Attitude".

In the end, we are humbled by your continuing kindness to us.
