The Last Sane Man Standing

"It's just my own, stupid, damn opinion!"
Of Pit Bulls and Presidents
Pitbulls: wonderfully loving dogs or vicious killers from Hell? Depends on whether you own one or not. There have been a lot of stories in the news lately about Pit Bull attacks. But, you have to wonder if we're only getting a one-sided view from a biased press.
Does the media jump on Pit Bull attack stories because the press has come to believe it's own journalism? Is there an agenda at work? Is it a circle of attitude which keeps generating worse press each time there's an opportunity to print a story about a crazed Pit Bull?
Well, honestly: there aren't too many Chihuahua attacks. I did a quick search at Google News and had to go back to December, 2005 to find one:
"FREMONT, Calif. - A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home after a traffic stop..."
Is that weird or what? But, that's really off point.
Whether it's an agenda-driven press or just a bias that can't be wiped away, Pit Bulls just can't get a break. You could say the same about President Bush, too.
I voted for Bush and yes: he's made a lot of mistakes. But, he's done some good things, too. Yet, like the poor Pit Bull, everyone is ready to pile on and say their worst. Well, not me. No matter who is the president, I won't insult him. If I don't defend my president, why should another country even begin to respect him or his office? And no respect for our President means little respect for the United States of America. That's not acceptable to me after all the good our people do for the rest of the world.
